The Pod is the perfect coastal hide away. It is located in the semi-rural area of Long Beach in a peaceful and tranquil setting on 8 acres of native bush adjoining the Murramarang National Park, yet is only a couple of minutes drive from the beach, 10 minutes drive to Bateman's Bay and two hours drive from Canberra. The secluded property is home to plenty of local wildlife, and with the enormous expanses of glass it feels like you are living up in the canopy with the birds.
HOW TO GET THERE The only road into Long Beach is Cullendulla Drive. This runs from the Princes Highway, approximately 5 kilometres north of Batemans Bay and about 45 kilometres south of Ulladulla. There is a sign to Long Beach/ Maloneys Beach.
Turn into Cullendulla Drive, drive approximately 3.2 kilometres and then turn left onto Sea Acres Drive. (If you hit the beach youve gone too far.) Follow Sea Acres Drive for about 1.6 kilometres until the road ends, and that is where you turn left into Clyde View Drive.
The Pod is number 56, about 600 metres along Clyde View Drive, on the right. There is a holiday rental sign on the top of one of the driveways. If you drive slowly, you should be able to see a glimpse of the Pod at the end of the driveway.
The landscaped gardens are perfect to enjoy the tranquillity and sit around the fire pit in the early evenings and relax with wine and lots of conversation, or a game of croquet on the vast lawn.
The perfect place to have a wedding or event as room for a marque and power provided surrounded by the landscaped gardens and natural bush setting.
The Pod, is only minutes from the beach but a total country retreat for the whole family to enjoy. This magnificent home in Long Beach is a fantastic getaway from busy city life. This home is a luxurious three level house, contemporary in design. Enjoy all the area has to offer listening to the birdsong, the tall timbers including spotted gums and tree ferns, great nooks for reading, sunning yourself on the deck and opportunities for table tennis competitions, playing board games provided, watching movies and listening to your favourite music.
There are walking areas on the property and beyond, mountain biking opportunities and quiet spots for meditation and yoga if you so desire.
LAYOUT The Pod is a large and comfortable home spread over 3 levels, and has been designed to accommodate up to 10 guests with 5 large bedrooms (all with new quality carpeting) and four bathrooms.
There is ramp entry and a larger door for wheel chair access if required to the middle level of the home a laundry and bathroom through, to the kitchen, open floor plan living, dining areas are located here surrounded by glass to capture the bush tranquilities. 2 bedrooms and another bathroom are located on this middle level.
The elevated main deck provides stunning panoramic bush views for outdoor entertaining. With 2 lounge entertaining areas, and Foxtel available this home is perfect for kids and adults to share a relaxed holiday. An electric BBQ, reverse cycle air conditioning, fully stocked kitchen -dishwasher and microwave -washing machine and dryer -CD stereo with IPOD/MP3 doc TV with DVD player, and satellite TV.
The kitchen, dining area has just been installed with induction stove, dishwasher, island bench and a table that seats 10 people easily. There is a Breville Barista Express Espresso Machine with inbuilt grinder, so bring your favourite coffee beans. There is a good quality electric piano if you have a player in your midst.
BATHROOMS /LAUNDRY The laundry has a large-capacity washing machine and condenser dryer. There is a third bathroom in the laundry area complete with shower and toilet. On the mezzanine is an ensuite with bath and shower and the third bathroom is shared by the two queen size bedrooms. The fourth bathroom is located downstairs for the bottom 2 bedrooms to share external access is required but worth the effort as very luxurious.
BEDROOMS Linen is included, this includes sheets, pillow cases, doonas and blankets and bath towels for 10 guests. The cleaning fee when booking is actually the linen fee. Please bring beach towels. We will have the beds made for you when you arrive.
It has 5 spacious bedrooms and can accommodate up to 10 people. Bedroom 1 - King Sized Bed, there is a unique loft-style King Size master bedroom on the third level with views that overlook the property through 2 magnificent pentagonal windows. This level has its own ensuite complete with shower, and a bath to soak in while enjoying the view. Bedroom 2 - Queen Bed. Bedroom 3 - 2 singles these bedrooms are on the second level which adjoin a shared bathroom complete with granite double vanity. Bedroom 4- 2 singles and Bedroom 5 -Queen Bed. There are portable fans in the queen bedrooms for your use if required. The newly appointed bathroom located downstairs for these bedrooms to access. A port-a-cot available if needed.
OUTDOORS Two bikes for your convenience, plenty of natural bush surrounds to go exploring in. Only minutes from the safe family friendly beach located at Long Beach. Sit on the large outdoor deck and enjoy a morning coffee while soaking up the glorious sunrise, a morning walk, or swim at one of the most beautiful beaches. Also on offer is sailing, kayaking, fishing, bush walking or simply soaking up the sun while enjoying the morning paper on the beach and walking home for an afternoon nap. There is enough room to park a boat here. There is an outdoor shower to rinse off after the beach adventure for the day, located near the downstairs shower facilities.
UPSTAIRSDECKArea There are two table settings on the upstairs deck area. One has a cover could you please replace before you leave. Also, please leave the orange metal chairs leaning against the table so that water doesnt pool on them.
There is a Weber style electric BBQ on the deck. Please make sure to clean it.
Please cover the shade umbrellas when not in use.
PATIOon ground floor This paved area is accessed from the downstairs living room via sliding doors and is shaded by the deck. There are two wooden and canvas lounging chairs that will be stored inside the door but can be taken out, plus another couple of cane chairs and a table. This area will get a bit wet when it rains as the deck is not waterproof.
WATER This property relies on rainwater, one tank is located out the back of home. Please use water wisely. Please keep in mind your usage and please do not waste water.
SEPTIC TANK Please do not put sanitary products in the toilet as this will block the system.
PARKING a large concrete parking bay is provided with 2 different entry ways so easy turning and room to move a boat in and out.
A short car drive gets you to Long Beach or Maloneys Beach, for a day spent in the sun and gentle surf. The Maloney's Beach French owned cafe provides fresh baked pastries, croissants and frittatas, as well as basic items, newspapers, coffee, liquor and ice
This property is perfect for weddings, corporate events, family reunions or for a relaxing stay away.
